MOOCs fall within the framework of non-formal education and lifelong learning, and participation is therefore voluntary.
The six modules will be made available on Mondays each week so that participants can work through them independently on the platform.
On Fridays, the assessment questionnaire for each module will be made available to allow sufficient time for viewing the content and participating in the forums.
In each module of the course, a content-related badge will be awarded; this is earned by viewing the materials and successfully completing the assessment questionnaire on the content of that module.
To pass the course, learners must first have passed the assessment questionnaires for all 6 modules (i.e., obtained the five corresponding badges) and a final assessment questionnaire covering the entire course. Learners who complete the entire course will receive a badge indicating this achievement. The badges that will appear on each person’s profile as they are earned are shown below.

Credit recognition is granted via the official certificate, which will be awarded to those who have successfully completed the course. It carries academic recognition of 3 ECTS credits as a cultural activity of the University of Granada, awarded by the Vice-Rectorate for Quality, Teaching Innovation and Undergraduate Studies, for the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. This recognition is included in the three-year extension granted for this course, which was approved in 2024.
The payment gateway will open on the same day that the final questionnaire becomes available. The online payment process costs €12.62 per credit, which in this case amounts to a total of €37.86. Once payment has been made, the certificate is downloaded automatically; this document must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office of the institution offering the degree programme for which ECTS credit recognition is sought, where applicable. This certificate also counts towards your academic record, just like any other course undertaken during your educational journey, as it is an official document.
IMPORTANT: Repeats of abiertaUGR MOOCs are not recognised by the universities’ registries, unless the modules have been modified or expanded. Furthermore, those who have applied for a scholarship should check the relevant section on the University’s website to see whether the recognition of credits is compatible with their original scholarship application.
