Upon successfully completing any MOOC, students who have passed the course are offered the opportunity to obtain an official certificate, which enables them to apply for academic recognition of ‘x’ ECTS credits awarded for the course as a cultural activity, applicable to all undergraduate degrees at the University of Granada. This has been approved by the Governing Council of the Vice-Rectorate for Quality, Teaching Innovation, and Undergraduate Studies for all new MOOCs.
The recognition of credits for university activities corresponding to the academic years 2024–2025, 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 has been extended, as approved at the ordinary meeting of the Governing Council on 19 December 2023; this includes all re-runs of MOOCs. To this end, students must apply for the official credit recognition certificate via the payment platform (POS). The cost per credit is €12.62.

Only students who have passed the course will be eligible for this certificate. To qualify, they must have earned the badges associated with all modules and the final badge before the announced course end date.
Both the payment process and the collection of certificates will be carried out entirely online.
Important information
The registries of the University of Granada’s faculties will not recognise the same course taken in different intakes.
When payment is made for a course, the certificate is generated automatically via the payment gateway (POS). Once this certificate has been downloaded, a refund of the course fees will not be possible.
This certificate serves two purposes:
1. For students at the UGR
- All students enrolled in a degree program at the UGR may have ECTS credits recognised. Further information is available at: https://calidad.ugr.es/estudios-grado/reconocimiento-creditos
- Once you have downloaded the official certificate, you must inquire at the registrar’s office of your faculty or submit it via the electronic portal (when the credit recognition period is open). They will send you details of the fee you must pay for the administrative processing, and once you have paid it, the credit transfer will be reflected on your academic record.
- Certificates can be recognised throughout the four-year duration of the degree programme.
- Completing the same course in different intakes does not entitle you to credit transfer.
2. In general
Our MOOCs are open to anyone interested in general education (you do not need to be a member of the UGR).
If you successfully complete the MOOC and earn all the specified badges, you may apply for a certificate (subject to payment of the relevant fees), as this certification counts towards your curriculum, just like any other course undertaken as part of our training programme.
